ACCESSING INTENSIVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

    In order for IBHS to be initiated, a child, youth or young adult must have a written order recommending the service.

The written order must:

1. Be based on a face-to-face interaction with the child, youth, or young adult.

2. Be written within 12 months prior to the initiation of IBHS.

3. Be written by a licensed physician, licensed psychologist, certified registered nurse practitioner or other licensed professional whose scope of practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health disorders, and the prescribing of behavioral health services, including IBHS.

4. Include a behavioral health diagnosis listed in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) or International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
